The History of Furniture Design course revolved around studying various pieces of furniture designed over the centuries in various parts of the world. Having researched multiple styles of Chairs, Lounges, Luminaires, Wardrobes, the final project for the semester involved the design of a bookshelf. The bookshelf was treated as a large scale free standing furniture object that could function as a partition device and also allowed its users to have a seat while perusing the books housed within.
